These bars are great for some extra protein and to satisfy my sweet tooth. You can make these super fast and enjoy them just as quickly! One batch will make about 8 small bars, and each bar has about 8-12 grams of protein and NO sugar! Note: These are kid friendly as long as you know your child’s tolerance to certain nuts 🙂
Preparation: 10 Mins | Cooking: 20 Mins
Yields: 8 bars
2 medium ripe bananas (browning bananas will be sweeter naturally!)
1 scoop of Vegan protein powder
1/2 cup of almond butter (you can use any kind of nut butter that you prefer!)
2 Tablespoons of cocoa powder
Preheat your oven at 350 degrees
grease a small oven safe pan and set aside for your bars. I use coconut oil!
1.) in a medium sized mixing bowl, peel and mash your banana until fully mashed (you can make this as smooth as you prefer)
2.) in a small microwave safe bowl, heat your almond butter (or what you chose) for 25 seconds. Stir and heat more if needed. The butter should be easily stirred.
3.) Add your almond butter, scoop of protein powder and cocoa to the mix.
4.) Once fully combined, evenly distribute into your baking pan.
5.) Bake for 20 minutes, or until cooked through. To tell if it is done, stick a clean butter knife into the baked bar mixture. If it comes out clean it is done!
6.) leave out to cool before slicing and enjoy!
